Swan City Market Life

Here are some links to many of the other great vendors at the Lakeland Downtown Farmers Curb Market:

Sugarbuzz Dezert Company – As a self-proclaimed connosuer of cheesecake, I have to say that this is the best. And the snickerdoodles…OH, the snickerdoodles! Salted chocolate chunk cookies, too. I could go on and on.

The Soap Magician – Sharon takes the utmost pride in bringing you quality soaps made with only the best ingredients. She crochets and sews, too!

Dutchy’s Granola – Janet’s granola is the perfect complement to my daily dose of Greek yogurt. Every flavor is so good, I really can’t recommend one over the other. Just buy one of each! Plus, she’s one of the sweetest, most genuine people you could ever hope to meet.

Bilbrey Family Farm – Your local Community Supported Agriculture farmers out of Auburndale (Representing my hometown)! Buy a “share,” and pick up a weekly bounty of fresh, Certified Naturally Grown (organic), in-season veggies.

The poor porker – I probably don’t need to go into a lengthy description of these guys’ locally (and beyond) famous beignets. But if you haven’t been out to The Market to try these fluffy, sugary, NOLA inspired treats with a cup of chicory coffee, shut down your computer now and go get yourself some. Come early before the line forms!

Wook’s Beef Jerkey – Wook was my original next-door neighbor at The Market. My main squeeze, Jason, loves all things beef jerky, and he’ll vouch for Wook’s as the best. I myself am a vegetarian, and I’ll vouch for Wook’s incredible Portobello mushroom jerky.

Soap For The Soul – Jane The Soap Lady not only makes wonderful soap with the finest vegan ingredients, her handmade lotion is the absolute best moisturizer I’ve ever used. She has a real heart for community service, too, and gives of her time and products to help others.

Mitchell’s Coffee House – Not a Market vendor, but a true Lakeland fixture on the east side of N. Kentucky between Pine St. and Bay St., Mitchell’s offers fine coffee drinks, teas, pastries, breakfast, and lunch. My typical Saturday breakfast from Mitchell’s is a Veggie-tastic Breakfast Burrito and a cup of Citrus Camomile tea.

Farmers’ Market Directory – Taking a weekend trip to another city in Florida? Use this very handy website to help you locate farmers’ markets in the area you’ll be in! Or traveling somewhere else in the US or Canada? No problem! The links down the left side of the page will help you locate farmers’ markets in every state or province! Help support Main Street USA or Canada wherever you travel!
